Abstract

A proposed tunable three-cavity gyroklystron is described. Calculations with a particle simulation code for a two cavity gyroklystron predict efficiencies greater than 40%. Gains greater than 40 dB are extrapolatod from these calculations. Output powers greater than 100 kW should be obtained. The experiment will be performed at C band due to the availability of a magnetron injection gun suitable for this Frequency-range.
