Abstract
Starting from the basic balance laws and using the Clausius-Duhem inequality, thermodynamically consistent Theological equations of state for a heat conducting polymeric fluid are derived. It is shown that the stress evolution equation is identical to the corotational Jeffreys model. Under certain limiting conditions the model reduces to the well known corotational Maxwell model for viscoelastic materials.
