Abstract

Simulation programs give students the opportunity to practice asking client questions consistent with various models of therapy, thereby reinforcing what they have learned in their marriage and family therapy (MFT) coursework. This paper presents a therapy simulation computer program “TSCP” to better prepare the students for their MFT practicum. Similarly, the simulation activities may help students develop more effective ways in dealing with a different conceptualization of a case and the client's problem. The TSCP is described, and information about students' experience in using this simulation training program to enhance their clinical repertoire and conceptualization of MFT cases is presented.
