Abstract

Tensile testing was performed at various temperatures on pure polycrystalline aluminium, nickel and copper and an 18-8 austenitic steel. A dislocation model for the σ-ϵ behaviour of f.c.c. metals was computer fitted to experimental σ-ϵ curves. A new theory of dynamic recovery in f.c.c. metals at low temperatures is proposed.
