Abstract
This paper describes a theory on the free-surface flow slowly moving full hull forms in short waves. Under the assumption of small perturbation over the double body flow, a new function is derived which satisfies the free-surface condition including the effects of deformed flow due to the presence of the ship hull. By using the function, an expression of the velocity potential is introduced. In order to obtain the basic wave resistance feature of the present theory, calculations are made of the wave pattern generated by a pulsating source moving with constant speed below the free-surface.
