Abstract
A new method of analysing experimental data on pp and pp and pp scattering is used to obtain an accurate determination of the real parts of the forward scattering amplitudes. The locations of zeros of the amplitudes are calculated by means of the analytical continuation of the scattering amplitude parametrized in the physical region to complex values of energy. The method exploits the known analyticity properties of the scattering amplitude and experimental data in a limited energy range. However, unlike conventional dispersion relation calculations, it requires no assumptions about the amplitudes in the unphysical and asymptotic regions.
