Abstract

Crown thinning of Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga taxifolia) quality class II is critically examined quantitatively and qualitatively and a provisional yield table is given. Large-size timber can be grown fast, but the sacrifices in accepted standards of quality may result in a lower financial yield.
