Abstract

We show the formation of ultraslow bright and dark optical solitons in a Λ-type three-level system with a GaAs/AlGaAs multiple quantum well (MQW) structure based on the exciton spin coherence. The propagation of the pulse across the quantum wells is studied analytically and numerically with Maxwell—Schrödinger equations. The research of ultraslow optical solitons of MQWs in the present work may provide important applications in optical devices and optical communication systems.
