Abstract
The parish went through a long path of historical transformations, until it took the shape we know today. It can be the subject of analyses of various scientific disciplines. The aim of this article is to present the theological view of the parish. In-depth theological reflection on the parish reality will be carried out in three points. After presenting the pre-council parish, the theology of the parish will be presented, deduced from the teaching of the Second Vatican Council on particular churches and pre-council teaching of popes. Then, the theological view will be supplemented with a canonical perspective.
