Abstract

A 45-year-old Thai man who had lived in Europe for longer than 18 years was referred to our clinic in April, 2004, by a dermatologist for the investigation of skin lesions. The patient, who had not left Europe for 18 years, had developed numerous red painless plaques on different parts of the body over the previous 8 months. There were no further symptoms, no history of skin disease or allergic reactions, and no current or past medication. Family history was unremarkable. On physical examination, multiple erythematous papules and nodules on the arms, legs, face, back, and chest were seen (figure).
