Abstract
The last few years have heralded the start of the liver decade. From a position of limited therapeutic options for hepatitis C, and virtually none for conditions like fatty liver and cirrhosis, we are at a new dawn of curative treatments and promising drugs in the pharmaceutical pipeline. As such, the editors of major textbooks in hepatology have had the unenviable job of extensive updates to several chapters. I am pleased to say that the editors of Zakim and Boyer's Hepatology: A Textbook of Liver Disease are up to the task.
