Abstract

In recent years, the installation of new energy sources in Northwest Power Grid has become the second largest installed power source. The proportion of conventional water and thermal power units with rotational inertia is gradually decreasing, and the frequency control of large power grid has become an increasingly prominent predicament. At present, the Northwest Power Grid has taken the lead in launching the promotion and application of new energy fast frequency response function nationwide. When large frequency disturbance occurs in the power grid, the new energy station can participate in the primary frequency regulation of the power grid and provide support for the system frequency, and the primary frequency regulation capability of the large power grid in the sending end is significantly enhanced. In this paper, a fast frequency response test method for new energy stations in sending-end large power grid is proposed. Through frequency step disturbance test, simulating actual frequency disturbance test, anti-disturbance performance test and AGC coordination test, the fast frequency response function test of new energy station is completed, and the on-site feasibility verification is completed for the first time in China. At present, this method has been used to guide the detection of fast frequency response function of new energy stations in Northwest Power Grid, and has the significance of popularization and application.
