Abstract

The purpose of the present paper is to give the results obtained when testing the controlled potential coulometric method applied to the measurement of plutonium in an uranium/plutonium mixture. Successive oxidation and reduction values connected to different values of the cut-off current are compared for plutonium and uranium/plutonium. The origin of the positive discrepancy obtained in the case of uranium/plutonium is explained and the appropriate working conditions to obtain reliable plutonium measurements in a mixture with uranium are indicated.
