Abstract

Pressure-sensitive paint (PSP) technique has been applied to various aerospace fields. A combination of a fast responding PSP (unsteady PSP) and a fast frame-rate camera enables the PSP technique to capture unsteady flow fields [1]. Miyamoto et. al. [2] introduced amotion-capturing system that used a two-color unsteady PSP and a color fast frame-rate camera to capture unsteady motions of PSP coated models. Based on these progresses, the PSP technique can be applied to steady- to unsteadyflow fields as well as unsteady motions of a PSP coated model. Even though these progresses have been made, the technique has a major challenge: the temperature dependency due to a non-radiative process of a PSP. Several methods have been proposed to reduce or to cancel the temperature dependency. However, a method to reduce or to cancel the dependency for the motion-capturing system was not proposed. We introduce a temperature-cancellation method for the motion-capturing PSP system. The resultant system was applied for a pressure measurement in The Hypersonic and High Enthalpy Wind Tunnel at The University of Tokyo, Kashiwa Campus.
