Abstract

The transverse electromagnetic RF test cell provides a new means of measuring consumer eletronic products for both RFI susceptibility and RF radiation without interference from ambient RF energy. This test cell is an enlarged section of a 50 ohm coaxial transmission line with two spaces for samples under test. Each space has a volume of four cubic meters which is large enough for most consumer products. The sample in either space can be subjected to very strong RF field for RFI susceptibility measurements, or conversely, the RF radiation from the sample may be measured.
