Abstract
Much research has been done, especially in recent years, to determine the nature of the reading interests of high-school pupils. The bulk of this research has centered attention on discovering what pupils actually real, and the character of the distribution of reading interest. Surveys have been made to determine what library titles are most in demand among adolescent readers, what newspaper features appeal most strongly, and what proportion of interest is attracted by essays, by novels, by plays, by poetry, and so on. An extensive fund of information of this sort has been built up.
