Abstract

A technique for rating the temporal position of the spectral lines of a quadrupole mass spectrometer and for automatic determination of mass numbers without using reference substances is described, along with algorithms for digital recording of mass spectra and the technical facilities of an experimental automated system based on a commercial MX-7304A mass spectrometer and IBM PC. The error in determining mass numbers evaluated from the results of experimental studies of the peak drift dynamics and tests of the technique under actual conditions is below 0.1%.
