Abstract
This invited Team Profile was created by Athina Anastasaki of the Laboratory of Polymeric Materials at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. They recently published an article developing a low-temperature and solvent-free method to depolymerize polymers made by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. The key to the success of the approach was an efficient end-group transformation of the polymers to macromonomer, which allowed up to 90 % monomer regeneration at low temperatures.
