Abstract
DGs are placed for the purpose of real power loss minimization and voltage improvement in distribution network system. This paper presents a recent optimization technique, i.e. teaching learning based optimization (TLBO) technique for finding the optimal size and location of Distributed generation (DG) in radial distribution system (RDS). The optimal location and size of DG is analyzed considering voltage stability index as an objective function. The superiority of the proposed approach has been shown by comparing the results with GA and PSO methods in RDS. The comparison is done using system performances such as the real power loss and voltage profile of RDS. In this paper, performance analysis is carried out considering IEEE 33 bus and 69 buses as the test system.
