Abstract

The article reveals various aspects of diversity in education in the modern socio-cultural context. Taking into account the tendencies of democratization and humanization society strives to expand diversity, focuses on heterogeneity as a catalyst for the development of the state. In line with the centralization trend, society and the state seek to limit diversity, seeing in it not only positive aspects, but also dangers for social stability and the preservation of a single value space and cultural and national identity. In accordance with this vector of development of the Russian state in recent times in Russian society the need to create a single educational space has increased.The article presents the results of an empirical study aimed at identifying the attitude of the future teachers to the phenomenon of diversity in educational organizations, as well as to the strengthening of the trend of standardization in the education system. 127 students took part in the survey conducted via interviews, online questionnaires and the method of unfinished sentences. The survey revealed a generally positive attitude of respondents to various manifestations of diversity in school. The participants noted the advantages of cultural, social and didactic diversity. A significant part of respondents consider themselves theoretically and methodically prepared to work in a heterogeneous educational environment. The students' assessment of the idea of creating a unified educational space in Russia, including the introduction of unified textbooks, curricula and programs, is also positive.
