Abstract

(Anesth Analg. 2022;135:912–925) Opioid use disorder (OUD) has been on the rise over the past decade and is the leading cause of mortality among pregnant women in the United States. Information and evidence-based recommendations on how to best treat pain in parturients with OUD is lacking. The aim of this scoping review was to highlight existing literature on peripartum pain management for women with OUD, both untreated and treated with medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), and provide a summary of the information.
