A systematic review of strengths-based child care environments for multicultural well-being: focusing on ADHD-prone infants and toddlers

Abstract

본 연구는 다문화 복지를 위해 ‘주의력 결핍 과잉 행동성 장애(ADHD)’ 성향 영유아를 중심으로 한 강점기반 보육환경 구축과 관련된 국내외 문헌 및 저널을 고찰하여 어린이집에서 활용할 수 있는 실천적 요소를 밝히는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 연구내용은 첫째, 다문화 복지 차원에서의 강점기반 보육환경 개념 및 필요성을 분석한다. 둘째, ADHD 성향 영유아의 특징 및 강점을 다양한 문헌을 토대로 제시한다. 마지막으로, ADHD 성향 영유아를 중심으로 어린이집에서 활용할 수 있는 강점기반 보육환경 요소를 구체적으로 제시한다. 본 연구는 ADHD 성향 영유아의 삶의 질을 높이고 가족의 복지를 신장시키며 현재 장애통합보육을 정책적으로 지원하는 우리나라 어린이집에서 특수교육 전공자가 아닌 일반보육 교직원으로서 ADHD 성향 영유아지도 부담도 낮추고 양질의 통합교육에 기여 할 수 있다는 점에서 의미를 갖는다.The purpose of this study is to identify practical elements that can be used in daycare centers by examining domestic and international literature and journals related to the establishment of strengths-based child care environments centered oninfants and toddlers with 'attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)' for multicultural welfare. To this end, the research content first analyzes the concept and necessity of strengths-based child care environments in the context of multicultural welfare. Second, the characteristics and strengths of ADHD-prone infants and toddlers are presented based on a variety of literature. Finally, the elements of a strengths-based childcare environment that can be used in daycare centers are specifically presented, focusing on infants and toddlers with ADHD. This study is significant in that it can improve the quality of life of infants and toddlers with ADHD, increase the well-being of their families, reduce the burden of guidance for ADHD-prone infants and toddlers as general daycare teacher rather than special education nursery teacher that currently support integrated care for children with disabilities, and contribute to high-quality integrated education.
