Abstract
A series of computer programs has been developed to create and display a parametric model of the epicardial surface of the heart ventricles. The system utilizes a class of functions known as “B-splines” that have been widely used in the ship and aircraft design industry. A parametric description of the three-dimensional surface offers several advantages over nonparametric forms. These programs were designed to be linked to another system to generate computer-animated films demonstrating the sequence of ventricular activation.
