Abstract
We have developed a system for digital camcorders based on the 'specifications of consumer use digital VCRs'. LSIs for 3-CCD camera signal processing, video compression and data processing are developed to realize high quality recording and playback. A digital interface based on the IEEE 1394 standard is installed in our system. We also developed a mechanism with a volume of about 40% of that for 8 mm camcorders. With the LSIs and the mechanism we can realize high quality consumer-use digital camcorders.
