Abstract

Abstract This paper discusses the use of the ultrasound detector in research on bats, and introduces a system for analysing the bats’ sounds and identifying them from recorded calls. It also deals with the ‘ornithological approach’ by ‘ear identification’ pointing out the limitations and general problems of the acoustic method. The system proposes a standardizing of data collection when studying Chiroptera with an ultrasound detector.
