Abstract

A cyclic analog-to-digital (A/D) conversion algorithm using the switched-current technique is described. The proposed algorithm requires three steps for each bit conversion and can be implemented using class AB regulated cascode current copiers. The approach is insensitive to process component mismatches. The proposed cyclic converter can be used as a bit cell for implementing pipeline structures for high speed applications.
