Abstract

In this paper, we proposed an l-bit coding metasurface which can sustainably reduce the backward radar cross section (RCS) all along with low infrared (IR) emissivity simultaneously. Two coding elements with opposite reflection phase (0° and ±l800) have been chosen to achieve reduction of backward RCS by more than lOdB at X band as desired based on generalized Snell's law. What's more, thanks to the large metallic coverage of the coding elements, a low IR emissivity (8J.1m-l4J.1m) also can be obtained. In addition, numerical simulated results show that the proposed metasurface has very high engineering value.
