Abstract

Objective To understand medical university postgraduates′ knowledge and attitude about pain management and provide a reference for improving pain education in medical university. Methods From November 2018 to April 2019, the knowledge and attitude of pain management in full-time master degree postgraduate students from 2016 to 2018 class in Ningxia Medical University were investigated by questionnaire and qualitative study. The questionnaire consists of 3 parts: general information, attitude and behavior, knowledge and attitude of pain management (KASRP). The qualitative study explored the subjects′ understanding and ideas of pain management by preparing an interview outline. Results Among the 283 subjects, 52.7%(149 subjects) of them thought that pain-related knowledge training was very necessary and held a positive attitude towards pain management. The average KASRP score was (16.4±3.9), and the average correct rate was (41.1%±9.8%). Conclusion Pain knowledge needs improving in medical university postgraduates, and pain education in medical university needs further perfecting.
