Abstract

Space vector pulse width modulation (PWM) technique is suitable for fundamental switching frequency as well as high frequency applications. This modulation technique produces good quality output waveforms in terms of low voltage and current THD. This paper shows a survey on different space vector PWM techniques for two-level voltage source inverter. In this paper, an improved 600 discontinuous PWM technique has been proposed that has less number of switching states in each subcycle. An advanced space vector PWM switching sequence has been studied and examined. It has been found that advanced space vector PWM method generates better output waveforms having low voltage and current THD as compared to other space vector PWM sequences. Simulation results of different space vector PWM sequences show that advanced space vector PWM switching sequence gives better result and effectively reduces the current THD.
