Abstract

Cloud computing is an umbrella term used to refer to Internet based development and services. It is a virtual pool of resources which are provided to users via Internet. The main root of cloud computing is the abstraction and virtualization. There is a requirement of scheduling to manage the huge amount of data, transmission cost, load balancing and the execution of such amount of data. Cloud computing service providers' one of the major goals is to use the resources efficiently for their optimum use. This leads to task scheduling as a core and challenging issue in cloud computing. This paper explores methods of scheduling in cloud computing. It helps to understand the wide task scheduling options in order to select one for a given environment. We have analyzed various techniques for better utilization of resources and also compared those methods. Finally, concluded with some suggestion as future work.
