Abstract

Purpose: A study published in 1994 undertook a UK national survey to establish the extent of resuscitation training in UK medical schools.1 In the years since, the Resuscitation Council (UK) has formalised training in resuscitation with the introduction of the Advanced Life Support Course in 19932 and the Immediate Life Support (ILS) Course in 2002.3
