Abstract

Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) is a new network architecture for the 5G network. It can reduce task execution delay and energy consumption effectively by task migration. Task migration refers to the transfer of all or part of computing tasks carried by mobile devices to MEC for execution. Efficient task migration strategy is the key research point of task migration in MEC. This paper reviews the latest research progress of task migration strategy. First, we introduce the general model of migration strategy, and analyzes the execution delay and energy consumption under different migration strategies. Then, we analyze and compare the existing research on the migration strategies based on execution delay, energy consumption, and tradeoff between them. Finally, we prospect the challenges and future development directions of migration strategy in MEC.
