Abstract

We report the results of a survey of galactic sources for submillimeter emission from the J = 4 → 3 lines of HCN and HCO+ and the J = 7 → 6 line of CS. The purpose of the survey was to determine how common these lines would be in regions of star formation and, by extension, how useful submillimeter spectroscopy can be in determining the physical conditions in molecular clouds. For this purpose, we selected sources known to be regions of active star formation.
