Abstract
PETER NOBLE edits the British Film Yearbook, authorative reference work on the British film industry, and the magazines Film Quarterly and Stage and Screen. His wide activities include acting, lecturing, and regular film criticism. Among his books are The British Theater, Bette Davis: A Critical Study, The Art of the Cinema, Hollywood Scapegoat: The Biography of Erich von Stroheim, and The Negro in Films, an American edition of which is to be published this year.
