Abstract
Abstract This article reviews the results of a survey of reading/study skills texts for college developmental reading courses. Textual and content factors chosen for inclusion are described and relevant research cited. Seventeen college survival skills, reading instruction, and reading practice texts currently on the market were randomly chosen for the survey. Survey based recommendations are made which can be used by instructors for selection of texts. Additionally, the survey format can be used by instructors to evaluate texts not included in the survey.
