Abstract
A discretized supersymmetric version of the D = 1 bosonic Polyakov string is considered in the planar approximation. The supersymmetric model presents interesting deviations from the bosonic case: the vacuum state is a free Bose gas and the vacuum energy goes as N in the large- N limit. It has a critical point and the specific heat exhibits a critical behavior with some logarithmic corrections.
