Abstract

Cosmological models based on the low-energy limit of superstrings may offer the best hope so far for describing the very early universe and testing the superstring program. We show here that the presence of self-consistent quantum effects and a fermion condensate leads to a particularly interesting cosmological model which effectively has just one unknown parameter but leads to satisfactory inflationary behaviour, reheating and a vanishing cosmological constant.
