Abstract
“You should treasure your time as a Nuffield Student; you will be at university almost 2 years before you do practical or written work like this” -- the startling unsolicited comment made by a Nuffield Bursary student of the 2004 vintage to last year's summer school at the National Institute for Medical Research. She was looking back to what she remembered as a fabulous summer, when she discovered the fascination of research in neuroendocrinology.
