This paper summarized and compared several quality assessment methods that have been widely used in astronomical optical images, including Strehl Ratio, FWHM, Spectral ratio, RMS, Fisher information, entropy function and neural network. To date, there isn't one uniform quality assessment method for all kind of astronomical optical images.
