Abstract

A revised control systems curriculum for undergraduate electrical engineering students is described. The control systems sequence consists of one required four-semester-hour course and one three-semester-hour elective course. Control systems laboratory experience is integrated into both courses. Program CC is used extensively in the classroom, in both courses, to demonstrate concepts and to provide solutions of example problems. Three benefits of the revised control systems curriculum are wider coverage of control system related topics, more design experience for students with an interest in automatic control systems, and more student enthusiasm for the subject area. >
