Abstract

Question: A 80-year-old man with a complaint of dysphagia was referred to our hospital. He had the past history of early esophageal cancer of the lower esophagus 15 years prior and underwent endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). The pathological evaluation revealed squamous cell carcinoma, pT1b-SM2, negative lymphovascular invasion, and negative horizontal and vertical margins for which additional chemoradiation therapy (radiation, 66 Gy/33 Fr; chemotherapy, 5-flourouracil and cisplatin) was performed.
