Investigator conducted a pre experimental study to assess Evaluate The Effectiveness of Planned Teaching Programme on Thermoregulation of Neonates in Terms of Knowledge and Practice among Staff Nurses Working in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Selected Government Hospitals attached with Medical Collages in Gujarat State”. The main objectives of the study were 1)To assess the knowledge and practice before and after administration of Planned teaching programme regarding thermoregulation of neonates among staff nurses working in N.I.C.U of Selected Government Hospitals Attached with Medical college in Gujarat state”2) To find out the association of pre-test knowledge and practice of staff nurses on thermoregulation of neonates with selected socio demographic variables.3)To evaluate the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge and practice regarding thermoregulation of neonates among staff nurses. A pre experimental one group pretest posttest research design was used and 50 samples were selected by convenient method of sampling. Investigator collected the data from 5 selected government hospitals attached with medical colleges in Gujarat state, 50 staff nurses working in NICU. Well-designed structured knowledge questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge and structured observational checklist was used to assess practice of staff nurses regarding Thermoregulation of neonates. The research approach used for the study was Pre experimental with one group pre-test post-test design. Planned Teaching Programme was developed on thermoregulation of neonates. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The findings of the study revealed that there was significant association with pre-test knowledge and practice scores with selected demographic variables. Planned teaching programme was prepared on Thermoregulation of neonates to help the nurses and enable them to understand the thermal state of the neonates and should adopt a preventive as well as curative approach for the thermal control of the new born babies to improve quality neonatal care and neonatal outcome
