Abstract
The objective of the present paper is thus set at analyzing the effects of the hospital information system on the users by their characters, their satisfaction with the information in their job performance and the extent of such satisfaction, assessing the hospital information system in an effort to help the users find chances to detect any problems in their job, improve their decision making process and eventually to increase their job efficiency.BR As subjects for this study, 22 hospitals were selected and questionnaires were distributed to users of the hospital information system at these hospitals. A total of 246 replies collected from the users were put to use for final analysis as an empirical study to explore the difference in satisfaction of the hospital information system users by their personal characters and characters of hospitals, satisfaction in their job doing, satisfaction with the information and the effects of other supporting elements.BR As a result, With regard to the effects of satisfaction with the hospital information system by characters of hospitals, satisfaction with job performance, information as well as supporting factors, they turned out to have grave impacts upon satisfaction of hospital information system users.BR On the basis of the findings from the study, following suggestions could be made:BR first, efforts should be exerted to elevate satisfaction of the hospital information system users by building up a system that may well comply with types of hospitals and number of sickbeds in them; second, continuous education should be conducted to enhance precise understanding to the hospital information system and efficiency in job performance of the users as well as to meet requirements for development of hospital information programs with additional functions; third, the top management of hospitals should be able to use the information system as tools for establishing strategies of hospitals including short- and long-term plans for management and investments and also innovating management methods; and fourth, measures should be taken for medical organizations to pay more attention to the importance of the hospital information system, to know in what the direct users of the information system are interested in a try to operate and develop a more effective hospital information system in the future.
