Abstract
As one of the noise controls, the noise sources can be covered with the sound insulation boxes. They are usually made up of the frame constructed by steel beams, and the steel panels or the others. In this study, we excited the sound insulation box by different methods, and measured the vibration acceleration distribution of the steel panel surfaces and the sound pressure at points normal to the radiating surface. From the measured values, the radiation efficiencies [L. Cremer, M. Heckl, and E. E. Ungar, Structure‐Borne Sound (Springer‐Verlag, New York, 1973), Chap. 6, pp. 459–461] of steel panels was obtained.
