Abstract
Transportation information is now provided that allows dynamic route guidance. However, the route is freely selected by the driver; the information simply advises the driver to select a convenient route, and never forces the driver to select the recommended route. Therefore, the route selection made by each driver after obtaining transportation information influences the effectiveness of the dynamic route guidance. In this paper, we study of model of route selection for both planning and assessing dynamic route guidance. A model consisting of a travel time prediction model, route change model, and route selection model is proposed. We also conducted a case study by performing a simulation for the urban district in Kobe City.
