Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to identify the correlation between the human rights awareness, multicultural sensitivity and multicultural efficacy of nursing students. Methods: A descriptive study design was used. Data were collected in March 2022 through an online survey of 266 nursing students. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25.0. Results: The mean scores of human rights awareness, multicultural sensitivity and multicultural efficacy in nursing students were 3.67±0.45, 3.22±0.26, and 4.12±0.48, respectively. Human rights awareness showed a significant positive correlation between multicultural sensitivity and multicultural efficacy. Multicultural sensitivity was also positively correlated with multicultural efficacy. Conclusion: The findings of this study demonstrated a need for continuous strategies and education to enhance the multicultural efficacy of nursing students through increasing their levels of human rights awareness and multicultural sensitivity. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance the understanding of multicultural subjects and strengthen the awareness of the human rights of various nursing clients.
