Abstract

The purpose of this study is to verify the mediated effect of quality of life in the work-life balance and job satisfaction relationship of beauty service workers. To that end, a survey of Seoul-based beauty service workers was conducted and a total of 340 copies of data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0. Empirical analysis shows that the balance of work and family, work and leisure, and work-growth among the balance components of work-life have a significant effect on job satisfaction. It was also confirmed that the quality of life plays a mediating role in the relationship between work-life balance detail factors and job satisfaction. This study analyzed the detailed factors of work-life balance, job satisfaction, and quality-of-life relationship, and was meaningful in that it specifically identified the practical problems of work-life balance of beauty workers. These empirical analysis results raise the need for institutional mechanisms to be established to satisfy both duties and life through policy formation, including the spread of awareness of work-life balance in the beauty service industry and the improvement of practical working conditions.
