Abstract

Amorphous WO 3 gasochromic films have been prepared by the sol–gel method using tungsten and H 2O 2 as main materials. The structure and the properties of the films are investigated. The results show that the amorphous WO 3 films prepared by this method have good gasochromic properties. WO 3 thin films are annealed in ambient air at a temperature of 250, 360 and 450 °C. Surface morphology, microstructure and crystal structure test of the films were analyzed with scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscope, respectively. The effect of annealing temperature and content of catalyst on the structure and gasochromic properties were examined.
