Abstract

AbstractThe three compounds NaHg(CN)2Cl · H2O, NaHg(CN)2Br · H2O and NaHg(CN)2CNS · H2O have been isolated from a study of the systems HgX2NaCNH2O and Hg(CN)2NaXH2O (with X = Cl, Br or CNS). The compounds crystallise out from reaction mixtures having large variations of the components HgX2 · NaCN or Hg(CN)2 · NaX. Some of the properties of the above compounds are described.
