Abstract
We propose an examination system of planning the bus route network in order to vitalize the traffic inside the urban area. By considering the number of bus schedule and also drivers of bus especially, the optimal bus route network is constructed. In other words, it is important to consider both he minimization of the operation efficiency and personnel expenses of the bus businessmen. In this study, Genetic Algorithms (GA) is used in order to search for optimal solutions, that is an approximate solution. This paper shows some applications to Kanazawa urban area as the case study, in order to probe the validity of this system by using actual road network.
